This past April I visited Tulum with some girlfriends and soaked up inspiration in the ocean, jungle surroundings and beach culture.
Luckily we stumbled into Hotel Sanara on the hottest day. The feeling of calm and coolness was immediate upon walking through the outdoor lobby, pictured below.
The healthiest-tasting green juices were a welcome respite to the heat as we took up lounging on their breezy white linen recliners in between dips in the ocean.
A favourite for dinner was Casa Jaguar (below). The smoky scent of copal incense enhanced the mood as we enjoyed cocktails among the palms.
The shops along the beach showed off an abundance of natural local materials including woven grass and shells like on these hanging basket lights.
For textile lovers like me, the authentic blankets and colourful mats everywhere were eye candy. Luckily I was traveling carry-on so I couldn't buy them all.
Other favourite moments were riding rented bikes along the beach strip (in a torrential downpour), music festival fashion finds at Caravana, delicious vegan breakfast at Raw Love, and an unbelievably cool treehouse bar: Azulik.
Happy travels! Shoot me a message if you need any tips. :)
